Jakes Adei

Dr. Jakes Adei is the chiropractor and owner of Vis Chiropractic, our wellness center.

Dr. Jakes was born in Ghana, a country in West Africa and left at an early age. For most of his life, he grew up in West Haven, Connecticut (USA) and has worked in Indiana and Ohio. After working in the US for 3 years, he then spent two years in Singapore seeing patients of different origins including Thailand, Malaysia, China, United Kingdom, and more. He has gained 5+ years of experience seeing people of different injuries, activity level and age. Dr. Jakes attended the University of Connecticut (UConn) where he obtained a 4-year Bachelor's degree in Biology. He continued his education and earned his 5-year Doctorate of Chiropractic (DC) degree at New York Chiropractic College (NYCC), which is now called Northeast College of Health Sciences.

Here is the philosophy Dr. Jakes has about chiropractic since he first started helping others:

“The best thing about being in the Chiropractic field is helping people naturally with the use of non-invasive therapy to allow them to be more capable throughout their every day lives. I always wanted to be a doctor because I like the challenge of having a lot of responsibility. Being born in the country of Ghana, things are done as naturally as possible. I knew a natural way to help people was what I wanted."

Dr. Jakes's specialty is helping:

  • Athletes (bodybuilders, Olympic weightlifters, powerlifters, and Crossfitters)
  • Pregnant patients
  • Geriatrics

Dr. Jakes has expertise in many different chiropractic techniques and treatments to improve the spine and nervous system, as well as other parts of the body:

  • The Activator Method
  • Spinal Manipulation
  • Thompson Drop-Table Technique
  • Diversified Technique
  • Cox Flexion Distraction
  • Spinal Decompression
  • Graston Technique
  • Nimmo Technique
  • Extremity Technique
  • Acupuncture Points

Nutrition is extremely important. Dr. Jakes has extensive knowledge on improving health with a proper diet and supplementation if necessary. He has knowledge on different issues such as diabetes, thyroid conditions, and multiple inflammatory/autoimmune conditions that can be improved by what we eat along with exercise.
